This summer there is a stupid amount of must-see gigs rolling through town.
With a big name act playing - on average - every two nights, it'll be financially ruinous to try and see every artist or group you want to.
The harsh reality to this summer music buzz is that some tough choices are going to have to be made.
Picking what to miss is nobody's idea of a good time but fret not! Your friends at TimeOut HQ have taken on this painful task for you.
So if you see only one show, make it this one...
If you only see one legacy act see: Paul McCartney
They get no more legendary than The Beatles. Macca's songs shaped history so no matter what he plays you're bound to know all the words. Trust us, it'll be fab.
Where: Mt Smart. When: Saturday,16 December.
If you only see one hip-hop show see: Post Malone
The hot hip-hop ticket has to be Post Malone. He's currently topping the charts and his laid-back flow and bass-heavy beats suit the summer vibes.
Where: Logan Campbell Centre. When: Monday, 15 January.
If you only see one rock show see: Foo Fighters and Weezer
Foos and Weez, as we've taken to calling it, is the rock event of the summer. The stadium's going to shake and it wouldn't be unprecedented for the earth to quake - when the Foos played Western Springs they triggered the seismograph. Now that's some heavy rock.
Where: Mt Smart Stadium. When: Saturday, 3 February.
If you only see one pop show see: Bruno Mars
Just sneaking into our arbitary February cut-off are these two Bruno Mars shows. Yes, he ruined the fedora for good but he's gonna throw a helluva pop party. So head downtown for some feel-good Uptown Funk.
Where: Spark Arena. When: Tuesday, Wednesday, 27, 28 February.
If you only see one indie show see: Laneway Festival
Okay, yes, it's a cop-out cheat answer but hey, we're only thinking of your bank balance here... While there are oodles of great singular shows we could recommend, there's just no escaping the fact this fest gives you the most indie bang for your indie buck.
Where: Albert Park. When: Monday, 29 January.
