While her Radio Hauraki Breakfast co-hosts have gone to London for the Rugby World Cup, Laura McGoldrick has jumped into her own hobby - acting.
Over the past two weeks McGoldrick has been shooting on the second season of TV3's Westside as a guest star. She has gone back to the 1980s and is playing a neighbour of the Wests.
It seems there is not much the talented 26-year-old radio and television presenter can't do and learning drama was one of her earliest loves.
McGoldrick told Spy: "I studied drama all through my school years in Christchurch and I studied performing arts at Unitec in Auckland as well. Acting has always been my passion and it's so good to be back on set. I watched the first series of Westside and loved it so I'm excited to be appearing."
Husband Black Cap Martin Guptill helped her run through her lines before departing for his tour of Australia.
"Acting is not his thing but he's very supportive of me and is not a bad coach."
McGoldrick was a fan of Outrageous Fortune - so much so she married a westie. "I always thought it was a great series with a brilliant cast but I'd not really seen myself as part of it. Of course then I married a lovely westie man so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it."
Her audition was nerve-racking. "Having done a lot of live television certainly made the audition easier but I was still nervous. The crew were wonderful and it was good fun."

McGoldrick will shoot again for Westside this Wednesday and it seems the show's star, 31-year-old Antonia Prebble, has become her buddy on set.
"Getting to know the cast and see how they work together was awesome. They are a great group of people who are very good at their jobs," McGoldrick said.
"I particularly enjoyed my one-on-one scene with Antonia, who is such a sweetheart and a real professional. To be honest, it was great to be putting on my acting hat again."
