For years, Christmas shoppers have been subjected to the trill of Mariah Carey pining for her absent lover as they navigate the chaos of their local Westfield.
But soon parents will be endure new levels of agony as the festive anthems gets the full Hollywood treatment, becoming an animated feature film.
A trailer for Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, shows the singer narrating the festive tale, explaining that it's the story of her "first love".
But rather than the romantic love alluded to in the original song, the movie version will take a more family-friendly angle, focusing on a young Mariah, who desperately wants a puppy for Christmas.
Instead of bowing to their daughter's whims, Mariah's parents arrange for her to dog sit a rambunctious little dog.
Not only will it ensure another generation knows all the words to the Christmas classic, it will no doubt spark thousands of children to beg for a puppy this Christmas.
Thanks Mariah.
