Rhys Darby's new television series will screen on America's Netflix this April.
Short Poppies is a comedy written by and starring Darby. The show follows journalist David Farrier as he meets "not so ordinary" characters in a small New Zealand town, who are all played by Darby.
Filmed in New Zealand, the mockumentary-style show also features appearances by the likes of
The Office
writer Stephen Merchant.
The eight-part series won more than $700,000 in funding from New Zealand On Air in 2012.
Netflix is an on-demand internet streaming channel and is the home to top television shows including House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black. Short Poppies will be available to subscribers from April 3.
The show will screen on TV One here in New Zealand.
