Christian Bale has bailed on Aaron Sorkin's upcoming biopic about Steve Jobs, saying he wasn't right for the role.
That news came just weeks after Sorkin told Variety that Bale had the part in his upcoming film, called Jobs.
"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale," he said. "It's an extremely difficult part and he's gonna crush it."
Now that Bale's gone, the role's wide open.
Rumours may have sprung that Michael Fassbender is in talks to take the role, but we have some suggestions for who could pull off a decent Jobs.
Here are five suggestions ...
Jesse Eisenberg
He's proved he can handle intense and brooding in The Social Network, plus he handled the long scenes of dialogue with ease. Sorkin's script is apparently three times the length of a normal film, so Eisenberg seems like an obvious fit.
Plus, he'll be going bald anyway for his role as Lex Luther in Batman v Superman. Just give him the part.
Jim Parsons

Parsons is 41, and he handles the geek stuff well in his day job on The Big Bang Theory, so he could be well fitted to pull off all the tech talk required in a movie about the inventor of the iPod and iPhone. Plus, there's something about that chin of his that reminds us just a little of Jobs. Let's put him in a black turtleneck and see how he goes.
Larry David
Sorkin's script are often painfully serious - anyone who's seen The Newsroom knows just how long a simple discussion about smoking can go for. So whether David can pull off a serious, stern role without the incredulous attitude his comic turn in Curb Your Enthusiasm is required is unknown. But that hair, those glasses, that walk ... it's Jobs through and through.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse
By all accounts, Jobs had an angry side. If anyone could pull off that side of the tech guru it would be Mintz-Plasse, last seen getting very, very fired up in Kick-Ass 2. Plus, there's those glasses again...
Tilda Swinton
Let's be blunt: there are certain man-ish qualities to Swinton's appearance, and she could certainly pull off the blunt sarcasm Jobs was known for. Anyone see her in Snowpiercer? Woah. It would be out of leftfield, but Swinton as Jobs? That's a film we'd go see. We might even dress up as Jobs for the experience too.
