If you go to the New Zealand Music Awards next week there's going to be a special, one-time-only performance by a supergroup made up of some of our favourite rock'n'rollers. We can't say much more except that it's one not to be missed.
And if you're more of Brooke Fraser fan than, say, Shihad, she will be giving a live performance as well as Hollie Smith, Atlas, Evermore, and last but not least, the Mint Chicks. Hey, it's the Music Awards.
Plus, you get to see your favourite musicians collect their awards, use them as bottle openers, and say things they will no doubt regret in the morning.
For many years the Tuis were a stuffy industry-only event but now the public can come along and enjoy the rock'n'roll revelry.
Before the awards there's lots of action in Aotea Square at the Vodafone Music Lounge, which kicks off at 4pm with entertainment from MC Slave, artists Otis Frizzell and Dan Tippett, the Turnaround DJs, and some surprise guests. And for the ultimate star-spotting experience, check out the red carpet when the guests start to arrive.
