The mother of The Bachelor NZ star Art Green has warned the ladies competing for his affections that whoever wins will have to share him with her.
Green, 26, is quite the mummy's boy, he readily admits in this week's edition of New Idea.
"We're pretty close," Green says of his mother Cate Hlavac. "She's so supportive in everything that I do. She's a great woman - I'll keep her on!"
The mother and son spoke to New Idea about their special bond, and Hlavac warned Bachelor NZ contestants that the winning lass "might not get all of him, all the time".
While "little Artie's" mum is nervous about her son finding true love on national television, Hlavac is also excited for her boy to find the one.
"I'm not a tough mum, so I don't think I'm going to be a tough mother-in-law." says the 54-year-old.
"At the end of the day, it's Art's decision, and I trust his judgement. I want him to be happy."
And what is Green looking for?
"I want someone who will be a great mother for my children. But I also want someone who is a lot of fun, because mum has taught me how important that is."
So if the women vying for The Bachelor's attention can get in mum's good books, they'll surely find themselves with a rose.
