A yearning for a thunderous cruise on the open roads of Northland has proved too strong for Danielle Cormack to resist.
The Wentworth star, now based in Australia, is back in New Zealand for this weekend's Harley-Davidson Iron Run, New Zealand's biggest motorcycle festival.
As part of the annual event more than a thousand riders will travel in convoy from Paihia today and explore Northland.
Cormack said she is making the most of her time back in the country, with a lot of it spent on her Harley-Davidson.
"I love being back. I've been riding with a big bunch of people, bringing the sound of the thunder to the streets.
"Right now I'm looking out over the Hokianga Harbour with the most beautiful view and the sun about to set.
"The water's sparkling and it's just a testament to how beautiful our country is.
"I've found that working in the job that I do, it makes my head very busy sometimes, and when I'm shooting five days a week in fast turn-around television, just to have that escape and get on the bike and go away is great."
