Friday night drinks? Meet me at: Golden Dawn, Ponsonby Rd. It reminds me of Berlin, where I was living, with its back space, but a much classier version. And it's like old-school Ponsonby when I was growing up.
Where I'll be wearing my new: Sequinned dress - preferably with a big cat on it but I'm not sure they make those. It's black and red and silver, a bit of gold.
And this weekend I'm planning on: Beach, beach, beach ... give me fresh air anywhere out of the city but hotspots are Waiheke Island, anywhere in Northland, definitely west coast Auckland. If and when I can sneak away...
But first I'll need to refuel at my favourite cafe:
Alleluya on K Rd.
Saturday evening. If my dreams came true there would be a gig by: Nina Simone and DJ Amon Tobin together would be the bomb.
But if there's nothing else doing I'll probably just: Watch a DVD, read, sleep, dream.
On my stereo/headphones right now is: Ladi6 has got me back into the NZ R&B flavour, and to be honest heaps of other stuff. Music is my one true love.
The books I can't put down are: Books about meditation, chakras and auras. Anything cosmic and about peace and love. Not books about how I can get rich using new age techniques, just straight-up hippy stuff.
The TV show I take the phone off the hook for: Twin Peaks (on DVD).
The movie I've been dying to see: Melancholia by Lars Von Trier. Heard it was amazing and missed it in the film festival because his last film Anti-Christ totally traumatised me while I was living in Berlin and I just couldn't do it.
A non-cooking Monday night means takeaways from: Um, I don't have massive amounts of cash this year but hey, Satya (Indian) on K Rd or Great North Rd.
Or a splash-out Wednesday night restaurant would be: Satya any day. Ken Yakitori on K Rd is pretty damn awesome too.
