The Country's Rowena Duncum caught up with Map & Zap Project Manager Dr Kioumars Ghamkhar from AgResearch at Fieldays to find out what it's allabout.
Map & Zap uses drones to locate and identify weeds and then destroy them with lasers or chemical spraying "in a smart way," says Ghamkhar.
The project is not just about agriculture, but also biosecurity and environmental issues says Ghamkhar who predicts Map & Zap will result in more productivity and less work for farmers.
