Christchurch police say they are investigating the sudden death of woman at a rural property near the town of Leeston, southwest of Christchurch.
The woman, in her 30s, was found at a house in Buckleys Road, after police were called to the property about 6am today, Detective Senior Sergeant GregMurton said.
Buckleys Road is north of Leeston, which is 40km southwest of Christchurch.
Police, along with Environmental and Scientific Research scientists, were examining the scene and would make no further comment, Mr Murton said.
