The Opiki Young Farmers Club wants new members - and you don't have to be a farmer.
It is inviting anyone who loves animals, the outdoors and meeting new people to join its voluntary organisation with opportunities to upskill through leadership training.
Opiki Young Farmers Club president Luke Robertssaid the organisation also raises funds to help others.
"For Christmas, Opiki Young Farmers Club proudly donated $2500 to the NZ Young Farmers Christmas care packages to help the families of Kaikoura get up and running again after being effected by the earthquakes," he said.
The Club currently has more than 30 members but is looking to grow its ranks.
"You can join the young farmers club from the age of six. We run an Agri-kids programme for primary school age children and a separate programme for high school students."
Roberts, 22, said the club was about meeting like-minded people.
"Sometimes you might just need someone to talk to who will understand, somewhere to relax, be yourself and get away from the farm," he said.
