A woolshed is on fire in Hawke's Bay.

Fire Service shift manager David Meikle said they were called shortly after 4.30 this morning to the fire in Takapau.

He said no people were unaccounted for and the blaze was in the middle of a paddock so it was unlikely to cause damage to other structures.

Two fire crews and a tanker are at the scene.
