Fourteen team members from The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery Whanganui got their hands dirty on the Whanganui Mountain to Sea Walkway this week, collecting over seven bags of rubbish in just one hour.
The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery team members were participating in the Great Community Clean Up, an initiativeto encourage Kiwis to keep New Zealand clean and green by hosting clean-up events in their neighbourhoods.
The Warehouse Whanganui store manager Hayden Kennard said the main things they collected were plastic and glass bottles.
"We also found a bike frame as well as some plastic packaging."
Hayden Kennard says more than a 1000 team members from The Warehouse stores around the country have been getting involved in clean-up events.
"It's a fantastic team-building activity," he says. "Not only is the Great Community Clean Up about keeping our environment clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy, it's also about fostering community spirit and connecting with colleagues, friends and neighbours."
The Great Community Clean Up ran from April 16-22.
