A pair of pigs are currently at the Council pound waiting for their owner to claim them.

This little piggy may have gone to market ... but these two piggies ran away.

The two pigs were collected from Miranda Street near Warwick Road on April 16, after a member of public called Stratford District Council to report them roaming on the streets.

Animal control officer Kieran Best says since he picked them up they have been cared for at the Council animal pound, however he's hoping their owners will come froward soon.

"They are obviously someone's pets — they are friendly and tame so it is surprising no-one has noticed them missing."

Kieran says if the two KuneKune pigs aren't claimed by the end of the week they be sold at auction.
