Warning on livestock neglect

Federated Farmers says it will under no circumstances tolerate the wilful neglect of stock and supports efforts to ensure animal welfare incidents are quickly resolved.

President Charlie Pedersen's comments follow cases showing a small number of farmers not taking care of their stock to an acceptable standard.

"These people are in the minority and tarnish the reputation of the majority of responsible farmers who value their stock and look after them."
