Lakeside Rd in Wanaka remains blocked by a landslip as geotechnical engineers continue to assess the Marina Terrace Apartment construction site.
The road remained closed to both motorists and pedestrians at the weekend and the landslip was lying where it came to a stop on Friday.
Contractors were on siteover the weekend working on the construction site and many Wanaka residents took the chance to inspect the slip for themselves, both at road level and from an empty section on the hillside overlooking the development site.
Attempts to contact Marina Terrace spokesman Matt Tuck at the weekend were unsuccessful.
On Friday, Mr Tuck said the developers would wait for instructions from the geotechnical engineers about when it was safe to have the slip removed.
