Save The rocky foreshore of Lake Wakatipu seems to be helping keep an invasive weed at bay.
Concern that lagorosiphon was spreading into Lake Wakatipu led to a survey of 240 kilometres of the lake shore this year.
However, apart from a small number of plants found in Frankton Arm and
near Kingston, divers found the weed had not gained a foothold in the lake.
Members of an aquatic weed management group are however reminding the public to be careful not to spread the weed.
