A roadworks accident has cut internet services to much of the Waikato and Taupo regions.
Spark spokeswoman Lydia Tebbutt said a Chorus-owned fibre-optic cable on a bridge at Tahuna was cut by roadwork contractors late this morning.
Internet services have been lost in parts of the Waikato and Taupo regions
including Thames, Coromandel, Paeroa, Tahuna and Murupara.
"To fix it, Spark and Chorus will be arranging traffic safety management and we will need to excavate, so our ETA on a fix is tonight," she said.
"We are working very hard with Chorus to get this fixed."
