Hawke's Bay is in for a week of unseasonably warm weather with temperatures reaching the mid to high 20s.
A ridge of high pressure over the North Island means people will be able to enjoy a feeling of summer until at least Friday.
MetService meteorologist Philippa Murdoch said the nextfew days are looking pretty warm with tomorrow in Napier set for 27C and Wednesday 26C.
The temperatures are fairly mild for this time of year with the average usually being a high of 19-20C, she said.
"It's a few degrees warmer but nothing too extreme, Tuesday and Wednesday are pretty warm."
There will be a bit of cloud developing later on Thursday but this would have cleared up by Friday.
The mild weather is due to a ridge of high pressure hanging over the North Island which wouldn't be moving very fast, she said.
There will be a couple of fronts around the South Island but they would have weakened by the time they hit the North Island and Hawke's Bay would escape them due to its sheltered location in the east.
Easter weekend was able to be enjoyed outside by many in Hawke's Bay with sunny weather despite some early morning fog on Saturday.
Temperatures reached 22C on Friday, 27C on Saturday and 21C yesterday in Napier.
