Turangi Open Pighunting Competition returns next weekend.

Turangi Open Pighunting Competition returns next weekend.

Hundreds of hunters from around the North Island will be converging at the southern end of Lake Taupo next weekend for Turangi's fifth annual open pighunting competition.

With last year's event attracting almost 500 participants, the organising group are expecting another great turnout.

The weigh in and prizegiving will be held at The Delta, Katopu Place, Turangi, on Saturday, May 26 from 1pm, with hunters seizing the opportunity to win over $20,000 worth of prizes.

The competition consists of three sections to cater for all age groups, a critter section (under 10 years), a junior section (10-15 years) and an open section (16 years and over).

Entry forms and rules are available from VetEnt Turangi, Taumarunui and Hunting and Fishing Taupo or you can request an electronic copy via email from kaylasimmonds@icloud.com.
