For the second year in a row, the FMG Young Farmer of the Year will not screen on television due to a lack of interest from the two main national networks. TVNZ and TV3 have both declined the opportunity to screen the 50th season of the Contest despite its iconic status and continued popularity. The Contest chairperson described the decision as disappointing.

Don Carson:

We ask a man who has more than dabbled in sheep breeding, whether sheep can really recognise human faces and whether he can bring "better work stories" next week

We head to Dallas, Texas to announce the winners of the Allflex Lamb and Calf Photo Competition, where from more than 600 entries, five lucky kids get to take away a $1000 Avanti bike package.
