Today The Country catches up with Sir Graham Henry for a chat about the South Island Dairy Event (SIDE), which is currently taking place in Dunedin.

We talk to the key note speaker this morning on day two of the South Island Dairy Event at Dunedin about his rural connection, leadership, mentors, adversity and culture.

Esther Guy-Meakin:

Beef + Lamb New Zealand's International Trade Manager says the spectre of trade protectionism is a worry but it did not yet present a threat to the meat trade - New Zealand's second biggest export after dairy.

Jane Smith:

Is a former winner of the Ballance Farm Environment Awards who comments on The Methane Mistake video and she argues, rather controversially, that history has proven male NZ farmers are largely disinterested in growing their financial acumen to step up their farming business up and drag themselves out of the financial closet!

Mike Minogue:

Following on from yesterday's possum punching controversy, we talk to the producer of Breakdown Productions about a true duck hunting story that has been made into a humorous short video for his web show The Watercooler. Today we ask for rural folk to submit their best yarn in return for their 15 minutes of fame.
