Levin sale was a busy day, with a big crowd and strong market.

More summer rain and a surplus of grass in the Manawatu saw a smaller yarding of bigger cattle and weaner prices remaining strong at Rongotea this week.

Two-year-old Hereford bulls 612kg-638kg made up to $1690 ($2.63-$2.65).

Two-year-old Friesian heifers 335kg-435kg made up to $1105 ($2.31-$2.54) and cross breed heifers 350kg-440kg made up to $1160 ($2.14-$2.64).

Eighteen-month-old white face steers 435kg made $1180 ($2.71).

Eighteen-monht-old Angus bulls 475kg made $1610-$1690 and cross breed bulls 335 kg made $710 ($2.12).

Eighteen-month-old white face heifers 280kg-375kg made up to $1060 ($2.71-$2.96).
Yearling Angus cross heifers 220kg made $600 ($2.61).

Weaner white face steers 105kg-143kg made up to $660 ($4.38-$5.39).

Weaner Friesian bulls 120kg-134kg made up to $560 ($3.83-$4.53) and cross breed bulls 117kg-220kg made up to $610 ($2.77-$3.78).

White face bulls 97kg-110kg made up to $505 ($4.21- $4.59) and Angus bulls 150kg-321kg made up to $860 ($2.67-$4.07).

Weaner white face heifers 107kg-157kg made up to $635 ($3.58-$5.09) and Angus cross heifers 165kg made $590 ($3.58).

Murray Grey heifers 140kg made $590 ($4.21) and cross breed heifers 128kg made
$480 ($3.74).

Beef cows with calves at foot made $1150.

Friesian boner cows 435kg-536kg made up to $1150 ($1.52-$1.68) and cross breed boners 507kg made$850 ($1.67). White face boners 475kg made $895 ($1.88).

Well grown weaner pigs made $85-$105 and smaller weaners made $55-$75.

Mixed age ewes made $56 and 2 tooth ewes made $120. Ewe lambs made $91-$120 and mixed sex lambs made $59-$83.
