Levin Stock Sales

A very strong market in all sections of stock at Levin Sale.

First of autumn calves with Angus bulls $300, F/H heifers $260, Angus heifers $240.

Sheep were as strong as last week with ewes $80-$90, fat lambs $95-$100, store lambs $58-$75.

Cattle section - big Friesian bulls $1400, 2-year-old steers $1000-$1200, 2-year-old heifers $900-$1200, weaner steers - F/H $600, Angus $460-$580, weaner heifers $480-$560.

We still have a strong demand for all livestock, both sheep and cattle at Levin Sale.

Also the premier yards held in Feilding on Fridays, plus we can sell per kg or per head in the paddock.

Rongotea Stock Sale

March 8 saw weaners and boner cows dominating the sale with no sign of any weakening in the store market.

Two-year-old Hereford bulls 535kg made $1600 ($2.99) and Jersey bulls 407kg made $950 ($2.33).

Two-year-old Angus heifers 428kg made $1175 ($2.74) and cross breed heifers 335kg made $800 ($2.38).

Friesian heifers 392kg made $930 ($2.47) and Jersey heifers 535kg made $1450 ($2.65).

Eighteen-month-old white face steers 315kg-365kg made up to $990 ($2.52-$2.88), Angus cross steers 355kg made $1030 ($2.90) and cross breed steers 330kg-450kg made up to $1145 ($2.54-$2.58).

Yearling white face heifers 285kg-321kg made up to $860 ($2.55-$3).

Weaner white face steers 130kg-208kg made up to $840 ($4.03-$4.92) and Murray Grey steers 164kg made $665 ($4.05).

Weaner Friesian bulls 155kg-175kg made up to $600 ($3.10-$3.64) and cross breed bulls 178kg-240kg made up to $660 ($2.41-$2.89).

Jersey bulls 160kg made $325 ($2.03).

Weaner white face heifers 270kg made $820 ($3.03), 130kg-153kg made up to $610 ($3.99-$4.32) and 100kg-119kg made up to $540 ($3.85-$4.52).

Friesian boner cows 421kg-667kg made up to $1120 ($1.60-$1.90) and cross breed boners 350kg-507kg made up to $880 ($1.63-$1.81).

Jersey boners 460kg-470kg made up to $780 ($1.62-$1.70).

Weaner pigs made $65-$90.

Mixed age ewes made $66-$83 and 2 tooth ewes made $88.

Well grown mixed sex lambs made $84-$96 and smaller lambs made $45-$75.
