A yarding of 220 feeder calves at the PGG Wrightson's Mangatainoka sale on Tuesday, August 15 sold for very good prices.
The top price for Friesian bull calves went to a pen of 15 from Mike and Heather Burmester who are regular and large supporters of the sale.
Top quality
Friesian bulls ranged between $200 and $220 - the best prices in the sale. Medium quality bulls ranged between $150 and $190.
Beef cross bulls ranged between $170 and $240 with the lower end being the progeny of fist year calving Friesian heifers.
Beef cross heifers were in less demand and averaged $130.
