One buyer snaps up one line of 1239 ewe lambs

Big yardings of sheep and cattle continued to sell on strong markets at yesterday's store stock sale at Stortford Lodge.

A feature of the lamb sale was the 2030 ewe lambs from Tukemokihi Station, Wairoa. One buyer bought one line of 1239 of them.

In the cattle sale 18-month steers were the star of the show with the best of them making $3.52/kg.

Buyers for the more than 900 cattle and 4200 sheep were from Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Waikato, Rangitikei and Wanganui.
