The market for lamb has lifted.

The market for lamb has lifted.

A big yarding of 1200 cows sold on an easier market at the second in-calf cow fair of the season at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

Agents said the big numbers of cows available and some uncertainty in the beef market were behind the easing.

However, the picture was different for store lambs with the market lifting another $8 to $10 on last week's big rise.

Buyers for the cows and the 3000 lambs were from Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Waikato and Christchurch.
