Ewes are selling well at the moment.

Ewes are selling well at the moment.

A big yarding of store lambs and in-lamb ewes sold on a steady market at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

The best of the ewes, 217 two-tooths from Otupae Station on the Napier-Taihape Road, made $170.

A big line of 616 in-lamb capital stock ewes from David Hamilton, Waipukurau, made from $138 to $163.

A feature of the lamb yarding was several lines from the Chatham Islands. The best of them, 243 cryptorchids from G and E Cameron, made $123.

A small yarding of about 200 mostly good quality cattle also sold well with angus steers in particular demand.
