Store lamb prices rose again for a small yarding while in-calf cows were in good demand at yesterday's Stortford Lodge sale.

Most of the cattle yarding of about 300 head was in-calf cows. Of the 205 on offer, 120 were capital - stock cows from one Tutira vendor who has sold his farm.

In the sheep pens there were several pens of in-lamb ewes which sold between $123 and $125. One pen of woolly in-lamb ewes from an Otane vendor made $146.

Store lambs eased last week but went up again yesterday in the face of a dwindling supply and plenty of buyers.

Buyers were from Hawke's Bay, the Bay of Plenty and Manawatu.
