Stock sold well yesterday at the Stortford Lodge Sale

All classes of store stock sold to strong demand at yesterday's Stortford Lodge sale.
Ewe lambs were particularly strong as the need to meet contracts grows after supply falls. Two-year-old bulls also sold on a strong market.

There was a big yarding of ewes with lambs at foot of varying quality and they sold accordingly. The best pen of docked, terminal lambs made $107 all counted.

The yarding of about 550 cattle and 3600 sheep sold to buyers from Hawke's Bay with plenty of outside support from Waikato, Rangitikei, Taupo, Wairarapa, Gisborne and Feilding.

Prime sale

A big yarding of about 1800 lambs sold on a very strong market at Monday's prime sale.
The best of them made $184 paid for three pens of male lambs.

Ewes also sold strongly while the heavy cattle in the yarding of 15 head were also in good demand.
