Cattle are still selling well at Stortford Lodge.

Cattle are still selling well at Stortford Lodge.

Good store cattle sold on a strong market at yesterday's Stortford Lodge sale.

One Maraetotara vendor sold 112 R2 steers and heifers, mostly hereford and hereford-cross, and all of them passed the $3.20/kg mark with the tops making $3.47/kg.

In the sheep pens the best 5-year-old in-lamb ewes scanned at 181 per cent made $153.
The lamb sale continued the strong tone of previous weeks with little selling for less than $100.

Buyers for the about 560 head of cattle and the more than 5000 sheep were from Hawke's Bay, Feilding, Waikato, Wairarapa, Christchurch and Matamata.
