All classes of stock sold strongly to a handful of buyers at yesterday's Stortford Lodge store sale.

Much of the cattle yarding of about 300 head was two-year-old bulls from a Mahia vendor. All of them broke the $3/kg mark.

Pens of quality yearling steers broke the $4/kg mark.

Store lambs sold on a strong market while scanned-in-lamb ewes scanned at 200 percent made $149. A pen of four and five-year-olds scanned at 300 percent made $120.

The first of the ewes with lambs at foot appeared with the best of them, making $89 all counted.
