Cattle sold well at the Stortford Lodge sale to buyers from all over.

Cattle sold well at the Stortford Lodge sale to buyers from all over.

Cattle continued to sell well at yesterday's Stortford Lodge store sale.

A feature of the yarding of about 1300 head was 122 yearling angus bulls from Hindmarsh Farming, Crownthorpe. The bulls weighed between 416kg and 419kg and made from $2.89/kg to $3.01/kg.

Another standout was the 98 two-year-old angus steers from the Poukawa Farming Trust, Poukawa. They weighed between 507kg and 574kg and sold for between $3.09/kg and $3.18/kg.

Good spring lambs also continued to sell well, with the best of them making $131.50. Most of the rest of the yarding sold between $100 and $127.50.

Buyers were from Manawatu, Waikato, Taranaki, Christchurch, The Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.

Because of the size of the sale and deadline constraints most of the yearling bulls and the yearling heifers are not recorded.
