Rain and a shortage of stock meant strong demand all round at yesterday's Stortford Lodge store sale. In the sheep sale, longer-term ewe lambs were even stronger than last week as contract finishers look to fill orders.

In the cattle sale of about 350 head the demand for R2 bulls sent prices well above the $3/kg mark. Traditionally bred R2 steers were again sought after by buyers from around Hawke's Bay and Rangitikei.
