The Country's Roving North Island Farming Ambassador, Sir Brian Lochore caught up with Jamie Mackay today to talk a bit of farming and footy.

Lochore is not optimistic about the prospects for lamb in the coming season as he thinks there is a lot of talk and not much delivery. Lamb is a fantastic product but Sir Brian believes it needs better marketing to get results.

Lochore is the chairman of the judging panel for the Norwood New Zealand Rural Sports Awards next year and he's looking forward to the competition as he reckons it's a great idea to get talented rural people the recognition they deserve.

Of course you can't escape a bit of footy talk when you're chatting to an ex-All Black and rugby-mad Jamie Mackay succumbs to temptation yet again...
