The pens were full to capacity at Rongotea this week as welcome rain over the past week raised the optimism of vendors looking to offload stock.

3 year Hereford bulls 800kg made $2190 ($2.74). 2 year Friesian bulls 428kg made $1180 ($2.75), Angus bulls 430kg made $1105 ($2.57) and Jersey bulls 370kg made $750 ($2.03). 2 year white face steers 348kg-517kg made up to $1580 ($2.37-$2.79) and Angus cross steers 296kg made $860 ($2.91).

2 year white face heifers 314kg-447kg made up to $1150 ($2.46-$2.57), Angus cross heifers 279kg-285kg made up to $750 ($2.56- $2.62), Galloway cross heifers 329kg made $760 ($2.31) and cross breed heifers 272 kg made $655 ($2.40). Empty Friesian heifers 328kg-411kg made up to $1040 ($2.11-$2.53) and cross breed heifers 331kg-380kg made up to $840 ($2.18-$2.25).

Yearling white face steers 285kg-362kg made up to $910 ($2.51-$2.74), Angus cross steers 307kg made $780 ($2.54) and cross breed steers 332kg made $530 ($1.59).

Yearling white face bulls 247kg-410kg made up to $1150 ($2.54-$2.81) and cross breed bulls 285kg made $580 ($2.04).

Yearling white face heifers 175kg-300kg made up to $720 ($2.38-$2.86) and Angus cross heifers 264kg made $620 ($2.35).

Weaner white face steers 127kg made $550 ($4.31) and Angus cross steers 145kg-245kg made up to $650 ($2.65-$3.31).

Weaner Friesian bulls 127kg-134kg made up to $580 ($4.03-$4.55), white face bulls 90kg-180kg made up to $560 ($2.78-$4.78), Angus cross bulls 115kg-225kg made up to $650 ($2.87-$3.54) and cross breed bulls 111kg-178kg made up to $460 ($2.47-$3.16).

Weaner white face heifers 107kg-175kg made up to $560 ($2.80-$4.74), Angus cross heifers 155kg-175kg made up to $565 ($3.22), Galloway cross heifers 142kg-166kg made up to $500 ($2.95-$3.51) and Friesian heifers 100kg-161kg made up to $480 ($2.53-$2.98).

In milk Friesian cows made $900-$970 and in calf cross breed cows made $760-$960. Friesian boner cows 477kg-607kg made up to $1185 ($1.73-$2.00), cross breed boners 365kg-555kg made up to $920 ($1.27-$1.84) and Jersey boners 345kg-380kg made up to $540 ($1.32-$1.57).

In pig sows made $130 and store pigs made $90.

MA ewes made $80-$112, hoggets made $66-$70 and mixed sex lambs made $69-$119.
