The stunning view from Richard Loe's farm. Apart from that dry river bed...and the high snow line.

The Country's Jamie Mackay catches up with Richard Loe today to find out what's going on in his neck of the woods in the Waimakariri Gorge.

It's a beautiful part of New Zealand but it's still dry in Canterbury and even the ski-fields are having issues with a lack of snow. This weird winter weather - is it global warming or just an anomaly?

Loe's off to the World Merino Conference in Adelaide which Jamie timidly suggests is a junket. Richard actually has a well-known merino stud on his farm so for once an ambassador of The Country has a reason for jet-setting.

Jamie wants to know if Richard Loe's rugby infamy is noted over in Australia and also what his thoughts are on the latest Super Rugby results.
