"The council's role is to make sure there is no danger to life or property," Hoobin said.
"We have organised engineers to look at the slip and have advised the owners to contact their insurers and EQC."
Yesterday council cordon tape remained up at the Wairere Rd property.
"The taped-off area was a precaution on the night of the slip and the owners will engage contractors to remove the soil on their property," Hoobin said.
"All residents are able to reside in their property at any time."
"This is now a private matter between the property owners and their insurers."
No other properties on either Wairere Rd or Mount View Rd have been affected.
