Rabobank New Zealand is coming on board as a principal partner of The Horowhenua Taste Trail.
Rabobank New Zealand is now a principal partner of The Horowhenua Taste Trail.
The Trail is an opportunity to get behind the scenes with some of the Horowhenua's leading food producers and sample fresh produce directly from the source.
"Rabobank supports a range of farmers and other food and agribusinessenterprises throughout New Zealand, including many here in the Horowhenua region," Trail chairman Antony Young said. "This strong commitment to the region's food and agribusiness sector makes Rabobank an ideal principal partner for the Taste Trail."
Rabobank's Feilding branch manager Astie Williamson said the need to educate younger people on how food gets from the paddock to the plate was evident from a survey of urban youngsters which found 80 per cent knew little or nothing about farming and food production.
Partners for the 2017 event include Horowhenua District Council, Oji Fibre Solutions, BNZ, MG Marketing, Horizons Regional Council, Countdown, Electra Group, Horowhenua Motor Company, Horowhenua Learning Centre, Fluker Denton Limited, CS Law, Fonterra and Federated Farmers. Taste Trail, Saturday November 25, includes Turks Poultry, Bagrie Dairy Farms, vegetable grower Woodhaven Gardens, Levin Eels and Tendertips Asparagus.
