She has also sold photos to clients overseas and is delighted when she hears back from friends who have seen her work hanging in places like cafes in other parts of New Zealand.

As a member and treasurer of the Strath Taieri Young Farmers Club, she won the ''You and your working dog'' section of the Royal Canin Photography competition, which was run as part of the AGMARDT New Zealand Young Farmers Conference in Christchurch on February 1.
The winning photo was of her partner, Tom Serle, and his dog.
Fellow club member Elizabeth Graham won the stock judging competition and Otago/Southland won the best region title.
Ms Hendrie and Mr Serle live on Hartfield Station, near Hyde, along with about 15 dogs, including two pets: Swag, who is a Jack Russell, and Frankie, a beardie cross working dog.
Both dogs have often posed for her.
She said she spent three days a week on her photography and the rest of the week working on the farm.
Although she specialises in landscapes and animals, she has also photographed weddings and children.
''I love my art and I love being able to be creative.
''I do it because I like it - that is why I started.
''I think I have found more and more of my style in the past year.''
In the future she would like to be a full-time photographer.
''I want to improve myself and get better.''
When not working or taking photographs, she enjoys hunting.
''I love the country, I love living rurally and being outside.''
