Stu Allen's Tess competes in the short head and yard event at the Broadwood Sheep Dog Trials earlier this month. The final leg in the Northland series will be held at Landcorp Rangiputa on the Whatuwhiwhi Peninsula this Friday and Saturday.

A results round-up of recent events involving Northlanders are as follows.

HOBSON.

Results from the Hobson Sheep Dog Trial event held over March 24 and 25 were as follows. Long head (judge Pete Campbell): K Whittaker and Jess 97.5, 1, M Child and Boy 96.5, 2, J Nelley and Joy 95.25, 3, M Child and Dice 95, 4, A Nisbet and Pat 94, 5, maiden: G West and Queen.

Short head and yard (R Hastie): T Comins and Jill 93, 1, M Child and Dice 92.5, 2, D Gilligan and Tim 91.5, 3, A McLiver and Breeze 91, 4, A Ross and Bruce 90.5, 5, maiden: J Miller and Bro.

Zig zag hunt (R Thomson): C Lugtigheid and Tara 1, G Smith and Henry 96.5, 2, G West and Swagga 96, 3, R Davis and Guy 95.5, 4, S McRae and Toby 95, maiden: C Lugtiheid and Jay.

* Results from the Molesworth trials held on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21 — the penultimate leg 11/12, on the Northland sheep dog trial circuit — are forthcoming.

The series closer, the Mangonui trial, is being held at Landcorp Rangiputa this Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28.
