Missing hunters found near Opotiki after being reported missing

Two missing hunters have been found safe and well near Opotiki.

The father and son were overdue from a hunting trip at Waioeka Gorge.

Police were alerted by a relative at around 8pm last night that the man and his teenage son had not returned from their hunting trip on the Goldsmiths Track in the Waioeka Gorge, near Opotiki.

The pair are experienced hunters but weren't prepared for an overnight stay.
