The Country: The New Zealand First leader and Northland MP talks about drought, manuka honey, Shane Jones and Donald Trump.
Things are dry in Northland. Winston Peters caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay today to talk about the drought-like conditions in his region.
Northland is also economically depressed which Peters blames on "Government neglect and bureaucratic ignorance". He's going to keep fighting for the region and won't pass thebaton to Shane Jones in this year's election.
Finally Jamie asks Peters for his opinion on President Donald Trump's recent actions surrounding immigration. The New Zealand First leader says security of the country is the "number one responsibility" of a politician and he thinks Trump may be on the right track.
