If we all ate as much as Americans, we would need four planets to feed the world.
That's one of the key points of Rabobank's presentation at the Platinum Primary Producers conference.
Jamie Mackay caught up with the Chief Executive of Rabobank Todd Charteris at the conference for a chat.
Charteris explained the statistic about needing four planets highlights the importance of nutrition and a balanced diet.
"That's part of the global challenge....in a world where we've got 800 million starving, we've actually got a lot of the world also suffering from obesity. So it's trying to get that balance right."
