Today on The Country radio show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with viticulture correspondent Blair McLean to learn more about a glut causing problems for New Zealand’s wine industry.

On a day where we learn the $4.5 billion kiwifruit industry is expecting a record crop (205 million trays) and near-record returns, the wine industry finds itself in a glut as reducing global consumption will see grapes left unharvested on the vines this season.

Kevin “Smiley” Barrett:

As the lingering drought continues to bite in the Taranaki region, we ask one of its most famous dairy farming and footy sons if this is the worst one he can remember.
