Today on The Country radio show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with New Zealand First leader Winston Peters, who reiterates his opposition to the India free trade agreement after Labour leader Chris Hipkins confirmed support for the deal.

Labour supports the Indian FTA, but a fired-up NZ First leader says it’s an “utter unmitigated disaster of an agreement for New Zealand’s future”. Has it cost him farmer votes?

Will he confirm he will not go into coalition with Labour?

This is after his Facebook post calling them “woke self-confessed communists who would turn our country into a basket case” and stating “no, we won’t do a deal with Labour or their Marxist and separatist mates”.

Allan Blood:

The executive director of Victorian Hydrogen and Ammonia Industries is proposing to build a $3 billion fertiliser plant in Southland.

The company says it could deliver 1.5 million tonnes of urea fertiliser a year, which would make New Zealand’s agricultural sector fully self-sufficient.
