Today on The Country radio show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to get his thoughts on the retirement of minister and former National Party leader Judith Collins from politics to become the new president of the Law Commission.

On with the show:

Christopher Luxon:

The Prime Minister comments on the retirement of Attorney General Judith Collins, Winston Peters and the Indian FTA, Budget Day, and inflation being a spanner in the works for the economic recovery.

Plus, he praises Emergency Response Minister Mark Mitchell’s great work on the ground in tragic circumstances.

Stephen Jacobi:

A leading trade analyst has rubbished claims that New Zealand could have got a better free trade deal with India if it had prolonged the negotiations.

He says New Zealand had a window to get this deal now, and if we hadn’t taken it, the next opportunity could have been years away, with no guarantee of a better deal.
