The Silver Fern Farms and the Shanghai Maling joint venture partnership is a done deal. Is this good for New Zealand? The Country's Jamie Mackay spoke to Silver Fern Farms Chairman Rob Hewett today to find out.

Hewett is in Sydney making his way back from a trade mission in Iran where New Zealand has a good reputation. However, although we are highly regarded in the middle east, Hewett says it won't be an easy market to enter.

Back to China - Winston Peters reckons the Shanghai Maling deal isn't worth the $267 million cheque it's written on. Is he correct? And will this deal create a Chinese stranglehold of our biggest meat processor?

Or will it open doors to the world's largest market?
