Nuffield Scholar Nadine Porter spoke to The Country today about the interesting developments in agri-business she has discovered on her travels.

Porter has just finished a visit to Amazon's headquarters in Seattle where she learnt a lot about "the future of technology in retail distribution." Jamie and Nadine discuss the threats and opportunities Amazon poses.

Another part of Nadine's journey was Los Angeles where she caught up on what New Zealand Co-operative Zespri is up to.

Porter says the Zespri brand is trusted worldwide even if those buying the kiwifruit don't associate it with New Zealand.

Finally Nadine confesses she has tried a "Beyond Meat Burger" which has meat made out of peas and it was "delicious."

Does this mean alternative plant proteins could spell trouble for the New Zealand meat industry?
